
Riggs Named to Mannelly Award Watch List

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football LS Austin Riggs claimed a spot on the Patrick Mannelly Award watch list released today. The award, now in its sixth year, is named after former NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly and will be presented to the player judged to be the best FBS long snapper.
Riggs is set for his first season with the Scarlet Knights, also earning recognition to the list last year at BYU. The long snapper appeared in 40 games the previous four seasons with the Cougars, including seeing action in two bowl games.
The Eagle, Idaho, native picked up Fourth Team All-Big 12 honors by Phil Steele in 2023 and was recently selected to the Shrine Bowl 1000.
The Mannelly Award benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Ten semifinalists will be announced Nov. 11.
