Sep 12 | Dance
The Rutgers University Dance Team was given another amazing opportunity to compete at UDA Nationals, one of the most competitive collegiate dance competitions. The collegiate dance competition, held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, brings together the top teams from all over the country to showcase their skill and represent their schools, to the best of their ability.
The D1A Jazz category is known for some of the most technical and well-known routines in the nation. Teams are pushed to perform clean turns, challenging transitions, and intricate choreography while keeping a strong connection to the music and audience. This is achieved by a mix of emotional execution, musicality, and synchronization. In addition to versatility and stamina, this category calls for artistry. Teams must convey passion and authenticity that transcends the stage.
With all of this being taken into account, the Rutgers University Dance team resembled these qualities in each of their performances. Their hard work allowed for their Jazz routine to make it through the competition rounds of the preliminary, semifinal, and final stages. The team finished in 9th Place in the nation.
