Women's Golf Opens Fall Season at Badger Invitational

Madison, Wis. – Rutgers women's golf is set to open the 2024 fall season at the Badger Invitational this week. The Scarlet Knights will begin play on Sunday morning with tee times starting at 10 a.m. ET.
RU will compete in a field of 13 teams, highlighted by three other Big Ten programs in Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. The Scarlet Knights took home 11th place at the event last fall.

Head coach Kari Williams and the team look to ride the momentum after a historic 2023-24 season – the best in program history. For the first time ever, the Scarlet Knights received a postseason invite, competing in and winning the second annual National Golf Invitational Championship. It was RU's second team title of the season, with the program also winning its home tournament – The Rutgers Invitational – in April. In conference play, the Scarlet Knights secured their best-ever finish at Big Ten Championships, tying for 11th place out of 14 teams. As a team, RU set program records for season scoring average (+8.05), rounds of par or better (5), birdies (436), eagles (8), 54-hole scoring (-13, Westbrook Invitational),
The 2024-25 Scarlet Knights feature an even split of four returners and four newcomers. The familiar faces include rising senior Lucrezia Rossettin and a trio of sophomores in Lorena Rossettin, Krystal Li and Emily James. Additionally, Kayla Diaz joins the program as a graduate transfer from Drew University, Grace Lu transfers from William and Mary with three years of eligibility and a pair of freshmen in Judy Amano and Joline Truong are also primed for their RU debuts this fall.
