Princeton, N.J. – Rutgers cross country hit the road on Friday, October 17 for its final race before the 2025 Big Ten Championships in two weeks to compete in the Princeton Fall Classic. The field featured 33 institutions from across the country and combined for over 585 runners.
Â
The Scarlet Knights posted top-50 individual finishes on both the men's and women's squads.
Â
"Today was a really solid day for both the men and the women," said Associate Head Coach
Nicol Starkes. "We knew this was going to be a competitive race with so many teams in our region and surrounding regions scheduled to compete.
Â
"On the women's side, we got a nice boost from
Lorena David being back in action, as she and
Kelseigh O'Neil both broke 21 minutes over the 6k course. We're continuing to work on closing our gaps with the Big Ten Championship just around the corner.
Micah Lawson broke 24 minutes for the first time in his career, with training partners
Lucas Reguinho and
Liam Tilton close behind. We beat some historically good programs that the men have not beat in quite some time and look forward to carrying this momentum into the Big Ten championships in two weeks."
Â
For the men,
Micah Lawson was the top performer placing 42nd overall in the 8K race with a time of 23:59.5.
Lucas Reguinho was next with a time of 24:12.7 to place 65th, followed by
Liam Tilton in 68th with a time of 24:13.9. Rounding out the scoring was
Maan Patel in 92nd with a time of 24:21.7 and
Stephen Kyvelos in 24:45.3 (140). Â
Â
On the women's side,
Kelseigh O'Neil and
Lorena David posted the top two finishes for Rutgers on the 6K course. O'Neil finished 34th overall in 20:52.7, followed by David in 38th with a time of 20:56.1. The next three finishers for RU included
Maeli Gleason in 21:50.9 (130th),
