Jennifer Dore-Terhaar Inducted Into National Rowing Hall Of Fame

MELROSE, Mass. – Former Rutgers women's rower and Rutgers Athletic Hall of Famer, Jennifer Dore-Terhaar, was inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame as a member of its 2025 class on October. 18th.

A 1993 graduate of Rutgers University, two-time Olympian and World Champion, Dore-Terhaar was inducted as a member of the U.S. Women's 8+ that captured gold at the World Championships in 1995.

After a successful career at Kearny High School, Dore-Terhaar came to Rutgers and was a three-year varsity letter winner and key contributor to the Scarlet Knights' nationally ranked women's crew team.

Dore-Terhaar first made the United States National Rowing Team roster and competed in her first World Championships following graduation, winning a silver medal with the Women's 8+ in 1993. She made it back-to-back silver medals in her second World Championship appearance with the Women's 8+ in 1994 before capturing gold in the event at the World Championship in 1995.

In 1996, Dore-Terhaar became the first Rutgers oarswoman to compete in the Olympics, placing fourth in the Women's 8+.
Dore-Terhaar took up sculling in 1997, also qualifying for the U.S. National Team that same year. She helped the 1999 team to a fourth-place finish at the World Championships and competed in her second Olympics in Sydney, Australia, as a member of the Quadruple Scull Team in 2000.

Dore-Terhaar has won five national titles at the U.S. National Rowing Championships and collected numerous medals at other international events, including the 1998 Henley Royal Regatta, the Goodwill Games and the Lucerne Regatta.
