PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey saw two student-athletes named First Team All-Region as the NFHCA revealed their postseason all-region teams on Wednesday. Â
Paulina Niklaus and
Puck Winter were both on the Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.
This is the fourth straight all-region selection for Winter, and third for Niklaus. Each have earned all-region honors after every collegiate season they have played. This marks the third straight season that RU has had multiple All-Region selections, seven times in the last eight years that RU has had multiple First Team All-Region players, and the 10
th straight season that RU has had at least one All-Region player.
Niklaus has been a First Team All-Region selection twice after being a Second Team pick in 2023. Winter is now a two-time First Team All-Region selection (2025 and 2023). She was named Second Team All-Region in 2022 and 2024. The duo was both named to the NFHCA's Senior Team as well and were both First Team All-Big Ten selections.
Niklaus is a two-time team captain for the Scarlet Knights in her third season 'On the Banks'. Playing both back and midfield this season, she was a starter in all 18 games with five goals and six assists. The Mannheim, Germany native leads the team in assists, is third in points (16) and fourth in goals. In 52 career games and starts, she has 15 goals and 13 assists for 43 points.
 A starter in all games, Winter had six defensive saves this season. For her career, she has 31 defensive saves, where she is Rutgers and the Big Ten's all-time record holder and sixth in NCAA history. A native of Deventer in the Netherlands, she had five goals and three assists this season. Over four years, she has started all 73 games, with 17 goals and four assists.
