No. 13 Wrestling Heads South for Weekend Duals with No. 10 NC State, Davidson

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 13 Rutgers wrestling (4-0) competes against No. 10 NC State (3-2) and Davidson (1-4) on Sunday in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Both neutral-site duals take place at Willow Springs High School as part of Journeymen's 'Jostle' event.
The Scarlet Knights' matches with the Wildcats (1 p.m.) and the Wolfpack (3 p.m.) will stream on FloWrestling.
RU also sends several attached and unattached student-athletes to the Patriot Open on Sunday in Fairfax, Virgina. The all-day tournament will also stream on FloWrestling.

- Rutgers secured a team title at the 2025 Keystone Classic on Nov. 23 in Philadelphia. Three Scarlet Knights – No. 8 Lenny Pinto (174), No. 14 Joseph Olivieri (141) and No. 32 Ayden Smith (125) – produced individual titles to highlight action for the program at the Palestra.
- With its 15 placewinners and 10 top-four finishers, RU produced 159 team points to finish ahead of Penn (140) and Lock Haven (103.5) for the team title.
- No. 8 Dylan Shawver (133) and No. 21 Andrew Clark (149) earned runner-up results, No. 13 Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and Andrew Barbosa (165) won their third-place matches, while No. 19 Hunter Catka (HWT), No. 25 Anthony White (157) and Jordan Chapman (174) all finished fourth in their respective weight classes.

- Rutgers and NC State meet for the second consecutive season and the fourth time overall. The Wolfpack lead the series, 2-1.
- The Scarlet Knights lost to NC State, 24-13, last November at the Journeymen Jersey Jostle in Toms River, New Jersey. RU won four individual matchups with the Wolfpack, which included an 8-6 decision from Barbosa over No. 20 Derek Fields and victories from Clark and Shawver. Clark defeated eventual NCAA qualifier Koy Buesgens, 5-2.
- Rutgers lone win in the series came on Dec. 9, 2000 – a 29-15neutral-site victory.

- The Scarlet Knights defeated the Wildcats, 34-6, on Nov. 13, 2021 in Davidson, North Carolina. Clark and Shawver competed in the dual, with Shawver picking up a 16-0 tech fall.
- RU won its first matchup with Davidson, 46-3, on Dec. 21, 2014 at Madison Square Garden.
