PISCATAWAY, N.J. -Â Rutgers field hockey was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Tuesday with the Division I National Academic Team award. The prestigious acknowledgment is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
Rutgers was one of 57 teams nationwide to earn the recognition. The team continues to succeed in the classroom, earning the recognition for the fourth straight year.Â
The program had a 3.57 term GPA and holds a 3.61 cumulative GPA. 5 students earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall and 14 were named to the Dean's List.Â
The field hockey program has been well recognized in the past weeks by the NFHCA in their annual academic awards releases. Rutgers previously had 16 student-athletes named last week to the NFHCA's National Academic Squad.
