No. 9 Rowing Wins Another Three B1G Boats of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – No. 9 Rutgers rowing's Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, and Varsity 4 have been named Big Ten Boats of the Week for their performances at the Doc Hosea Invitational on Saturday on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Under a new format this season, the Big Ten will honor one boat each from four categories - Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, and Additional Boat of the Week. The V8 and 2V8 repeated as Big Ten Boats of the Week after winning last week. This week's honors mark the 14th, 15th, and 16th Big Ten Boats of the Week for the program since its first appearance in the conference's weekly awards in 2018.

Rutgers won the Doc Hosea Invitational over 11 programs thanks to the efforts of these three boats. The V8 won their heat and won the grand final over runner-up No. 12 Penn by 7.6 seconds. The 2V8 won their heat and grand final over Penn by 3.8 seconds, and the V4 did the same with an 8.3-second margin over Penn.

The V8 was rowed by Hannah Heideveld, Kate Pitzel, Elli Arbogast, Lily Wood, Chiara Saccomando, Lauren Andersen, Ruby Hatfield, Louise Dinard and coxed by Victoria Grieder.
