Gymnastics Wins Ball State Tri in Road Debut

MUNCIE, Ind. – Rutgers gymnastics won the Ball State Tri in its road debut on Sunday, finishing the meet with a 194.975 to defeat both Ball State and Western Michigan.
Gabrielle Dildy won the all-around for the second straight week, posting a 39.300, highlighted by a 9.875 on floor. After competing in the all-around for the first time in her career last week, the senior has now won it in each of the team's first two meets this season.
The Scarlet Knights opened the meet on bars, starting strong with a 48.925. Delaney Adrian led the unit with a 9.825, while Campbell Earley added a 9.800 in the leadoff spot.
On beam, Keeley Smith and Dildy each posted a 9.825 to help RU rally for a 48.275 after a pair of falls.
Once again, floor was the highest-scoring event for the Scarlet Knights, with the team posting a 49.000. Emily Leese anchored with a 9.900, while Dildy (9.875) and Elliot Goldsmith (9.825) both eclipsed 9.8 on the event.
Dildy paced RU on vault with a 9.850, bringing the meet home with a 48.775 and helping cap off the team victory.
Dildy's 9.825 on bars paced RU and tied her for the event win as well.
As a team, RU won vault, bars and floor, with Leese (Floor) and Dildy (All-Around, Vault) winning individual events.
