Cross Country Gears Up for Fall Classic

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers cross country will travel to Princeton on Friday, Oct. 16 for its final tune-up meet prior to the 2026 Big Ten Championships. The Scarlet Knights will run in the Joe Handelman '52 Fall Classic on the Meadows Campus course.

The women's 6K race will take place at 4:30 p.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 5 p.m.

The Scarlet Knights are coming off a trip to Madison, Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Invitational, which served as a preview for the conference championships later this month.

Micah Lawson has starred on men's side, leading Rutgers in each of the previous two races. He ran his 8K career best on the same Princeton course last season, clocking 23:59.5. Lorena David, who won the season-opening Lehigh Invitational, has led the Scarlet Knights for the women's squad in each of their three races this season.

The Big Ten Championships will be held on the Zimmer Championship Course in Wisconsin on Friday, Oct. 30, followed by the NCAA Mid Atlantic Regional in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in November.
