PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Sophomore Caroline Ling has been named a Nike Lacrosse Midseason Media All-American, announced Wednesday by ILWomen. Ling earned honorable mention laurels at attack, marking six consecutive season Rutgers women's lacrosse has landed at least one student-athlete on the prestigious list under head coach Melissa Lehman.
Ling has enjoyed a breakout season, tallying a team-high 62 points on 43 goals and 19 assists this spring. Her 43 goals rank third in the Big Ten and seventh nationally, while her 3.58 goals per game are 13th in the NCAA. Ling became just the 12th player in program history to hit 60 or more points in a season.
The Springboro, Ohio, native has produced eight games with four or more points and eight starts with three or more goals. Ling secured a career-high eight goals on 10 shots in a 17-16 win over Temple last month en route to USA Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week honors.
Riding a three-game winning streak and receiving votes in this week's IWLCA Coaches Poll, Rutgers faces No. 1 Maryland on Saturday in College Park. The matchup with the Terrapins will be the program's first against a No. 1 team since the 2017 campaign.
