PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Katie Buck and sophomore Caroline Ling were named 2026 IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region on Thursday. It marks the sixth consecutive season Rutgers women's lacrosse has had at least one all-region selection since 2021 under head coach Melissa Lehman.
Buck and Ling both earned second team laurels by the IWLCA for the first time in their respective careers. Both were also named Honorable Mention All-Americans last week by USA Lacrosse Magazine.
A First Team All-Big Ten selection, Buck established herself as one of the top draw takers in the country this season. The Moorestown, New Jersey, native produced 166 draw controls, good for second in the Big Ten. In 20 games, Buck finished with 166 draw controls, 30 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers – all team highs.
Buck's 166 draw controls are a single-season program record, while her career-high 16 draw controls against Oregon on April 12 set a school single-game record. Buck reset the single-game draw control record three times this spring.
A Second Team All-Big Ten selection, Ling was one of the top offensive players in the NCAA this spring. The Springboro, Ohio, native finished fourth in the Big Ten and 12th nationally with 97 points this season on a team-high 63 goals and 34 assists. Ling has netted three or more goals 13 times and her 3.22 goals per game ranked third in the Big Ten.
Ling's 97 points passed assistant coach Taralyn Naslonski (2022) for the program's single-season points record. Ling also became the 29th Scarlet Knight in program history to surpass 100 career points with 117 in just two seasons "On the Banks."
Rutgers navigated one of the toughest schedules in the country to earn an at-large bid to this year's NCAA Tournament, finishing the season with its most wins (11) and Big Ten victories (4) since 2022. The Scarlet Knights wrapped up the regular season with the No. 5 strength of schedule and a No. 20 RPI.
