
Volleyball Captures First SEC Win Since 2001 In Sweep Of Arkansas

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rutgers volleyball opened the Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge with its first win over an SEC opponent since 2001 in a sweep of Arkansas at Memorial Gymnasium on Tuesday afternoon,
The Scarlet Knights improved to 3-1 on the year behind 25-19, 25-20, and 25-16 victories for their first SEC win since a 3-0 victory over Ole Miss back on Aug. 31, 2001 and first sweep of the season.

- Rutgers hit .344 as a team, as the offense was led by Skylar George with nine kills.
- Imani Howell and Natalie Robinson continued their proficient hitting in the middle. Howell captured eight kills on 11 swings to hit a career best .727 and Robinson swung at a .583 clip with eight kills on 12 attacks with only one miscue.
- Aspen Maxwell also added eight kills from the right side.
- Lily Bolen put up 19 assists with Brooke Baldwin adding 18 helpers.
- The Scarlet Knights put away nine aces on the afternoon, led by Karis Willow with a trio. Bolen and Howell also had a pair in the win.
- On the block, Maxwell, Robinson and Howell accounted for a pair of blocks each.
- Kenzie Dyrstad locked up 13 digs for the defense.

- SET 1 (25-19) | Rutgers opened on a 10-3 run, but Arkansas came back with a run of its own as a 7-1 burst had the Scarlet Knights call time. The Razorbacks took a lead at 13-12 and from there, the opening frame was even four times with Arkansas going out to an 18-16 edge. The Scarlet Knights, however, closed outscoring the Razorbacks 9-1. Aspen Maxwell collected four kills as RU hit .371 and Arkansas swung .135. RU also put up four aces, including a pair from Imani Howell.
- SET 2 (25-20) | The Scarlet Knights never trailed on their way to a 2-0 lead. RU led 10-9 and would not allow the Razorbacks to get any closer as Karis Willow rattled off three consecutive points on a kill and back-to-back aces to help grow the lead. The quick turnaround kill from Imani Howell saw Rutgers lead 20-17 as RU closed outscoring the Razorbacks, 6-3, for its largest margin at set point. Howell led the attack with four kills.
- SET 3 (25-16) | RU hit a match-best .444, opening on a 4-1 run, and only continued to grow the lead from there. A Kenzie Dyrstad ace put the Scarlet Knights into double digits ahead at 10-6 and the squad rattled off eight of the next 11 for an 18-9 advantage. Maxwell and Skylar George punched in four kills apiece.
