I started playing my sport because…: I started playing volleyball because sports have always been a big part of my family. Both of my parents played college sports—my dad played basketball and my mom played volleyball—so my siblings and I were always encouraged to try different sports growing up. I played a little bit of everything, but when I found volleyball, I immediately fell in love with it. I loved the energy, the competitiveness, and especially being part of a team. What started as one of the many sports I tried growing up eventually became the sport I knew I wanted to pursue.
I chose Rutgers because…: I chose Rutgers because it felt like the perfect place for me to grow both as a volleyball player and as a person. I knew I would be surrounded by a coaching staff that believed in me and pushed me to be my best every day. Being able to compete in the Big Ten and play against some of the best teams in the country was also something I really valued and knew would challenge me to grow. At the same time, Rutgers gives me the opportunity to receive a great education and earn a degree that I’ll carry with me long after volleyball. For me, it was the combination of the people, the competition, and the education that made Rutgers feel like home.
