
Volleyball Wins Third Straight In 3-1 Victory Over Delaware

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers volleyball has made it three-in-a-row heading into its weekend finale following a 3-1 win over Delaware on Friday night at Jersey Mike's Arena.
The Scarlet Knights kicked off the evening with a 25-19 first set victory, but the Blue Hens came back to even the match after a 26-24 second set win. RU, however, put away the match by winning the next two frames 25-16 and 25-21.
The win improved RU to 6-2 on the year.

- Three Scarlet Knights finished with double-digit kills as Karis Willow and Malia Romes each had 11 and Skylar George posted 10.
- Willow's 11 kills were a career high to go along with five aces, including four straight in the opening set win.
- A trio of Scarlet Knights also landed in double-figure digs. Kenzie Dyrstad has a team-leading 15 digs, while Lily Bolen recorded a season-high 13 and Kaila Kalama-Bajet came up with a career high 10.
- In addition to her 13 digs, Bolen also put up 20 assists for her second double-double of the season and 15th of her career.
- Brooke Baldwin added 23 assists in the win along with six digs and an ace.
- RU captured a season-high 13 blocks, led by six from Imani Howell and Natalie Robinson. Robinson had two solo stops, while all six stops from Howell were assisted. Aspen Maxwell added a season-high five blocks.

- SET 1 (25-19) | Rutgers led from opening serve to set point. Rutgers tallied the match's first four points and along the way, Karis Willow served up four aces in a row to push the Scarlet Knights out to a 16-9 edge. The Blue Hens cut their deficit to a point as an 8-2 run saw them trail 19-18. RU responded, however, closing out the frame outscoring its opponent, 6-1, with Willow putting away her fourth kill of the opener for set point. While Delaware did manage to outhit RU, .118 to .086, the Scarlet Knights served up six aces while the Blue Hens had none from the service line. Skylar George also contributed four kills while Kenzie Dyrstad and Imani Howell each had an ace in addition to the four served up by Willow.

- SET 2 (24-26) | It took 10 ties, five lead changes and being down 11-10 before Rutgers flipped the script with a 6-1 run. The Blue Hens, however, came back with a late surge. Delaware enacted a 5-1 run to even the frame at 22-22. The two squads traded the next four points, but it was the Blue Hens pulling out the final three points of the set for the 26-24 win. Willow and Romes delivered five kills and Natalie Robinson posted up three blocks.
- SET 3 (25-16) | Robinson knotted the score for a sixth and final time at 10-10 and from there it was the Scarlet Knights outscoring the Blue Hens 15-6 and only allowing Delaware back-to-back points once during the span. A kill from UD's Jayda Redd and miscue on the attack from the Knights saw the Blue Hens pull with a point down 14-13, but from there it was all Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights recorded eight of the next nine to establish a 21-14 advantage en route to lead 2-1. Robinson led the attack with five kills on eight swings and joined Howell and Romes with a pair of blocks. The Blue Hens hit in the negative, swinging -.075 with 12 errors and only nine kills, as compared to 10 kills from the Scarlet Knights.

- SET 4 (25-21) | Like the first set, it was a Scarlet Knight lead from start to finish. While Rutgers opened with an 8-3 lead, the Blue Hens pulled within a point on four occasions. RU never relinquished the lead, holding on up 19-18, before outscoring Delaware, 6-2, for the win. The final set saw Howell put away five kills and four each from George and Malia Romes.
