Antwone Woolfolk (6-9, 250-pounds) is from Cleveland, Ohio and is an exciting basketball prospect that also received offers to play college football at tight end. The multi-sport athlete has the frame to play the big man position at a Big Ten level. His imposing size, footwork, great hands and under-the-radar potential make him a key part of Pikiell’s 2022-23 class. The Rutgers men’s basketball program believes that Woolfolk’s best basketball is ahead of him. Pikiell and his staff have a vision for Woolfolk to be a front court player of the future for the Scarlet Knights.

Antwone Woolfolk had a productive first season in Scarlet.The six-foot-nine forward from Cleveland, Ohio played in 32 of 34 of the Rutgers men's basketball contests in his freshman year.Woolfolk averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and shot 67.3 percent from the field. Woolfolk was 33-of-49 on the season.Woolfolk averaged 7.3 minutes-per-game and was a key component of the Scarlet Knights bench coming into spell starting center Clifford Omoruyi.

“Antwone Woolfolk will bring energy, excitement and a physicality here to Rutgers,” Pikiell said. “He’s a two-sport athlete, a great student and another great young man with a tremendous upside. He has an ability to score around the basketball with some terrific ball-handling and passing skills. I think he has a chance to be a very special front court player for Rutgers nation.”

2022-23 (Sophomore): 

• Played in 27 games and started six, averaging 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game 
• Scored 10 points in opener versus Princeton then joined starting lineup
• Had 8 rebounds in 14 minutes against BU
• Scored 7 points against Bryant
• Had six points, five rebounds at Michigan State

2022-23 (Freshman): 

• Played in 32 games, scoring 75 points with 10 steals, six blocks and nine assists. He averaged 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds (52 boards overall). 
• Shot 67.3 percent from the field (33-of-49). 
• Best game and career-high came when he scored ten points on (4-5) shooting in the 90-57 win over Coppin State at Jersey Mike's Arena on Dec. 30.
• Woolfolk scored nine and eight points respectively in the victories over Central Connecticut State (Nov. 26) and Rider (Nov. 22).
• The Rutgers Student section has worn wolf masks and named themselves “The Wolf Folks” in honor of his nickname “Wolf”

High School:

•  He entered his senior year considering both options. Boston College, Cincinnati, Akron and Marshall offered him football scholarships, but the Scarlet Knights emerged in July as a basketball option.
• Woolfolk was the second commit to Rutgers in this year’s class following freshman guard and teammate Derek Simpson.
• He joins senior wing Elmore James IV, who agreed in July to join Ohio University next season.
• Woolfolk averaged 10.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as a junior leading his team in both categories.
• Woolfolk toured campuses this past summer with James and fellow 6-7 forward Tyler Williams, a junior in the Class of 2023, to see Ohio, Kent State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and other schools
• Brush is coming off a 15-7 season thanks to Woolfolk and his teammates success.
• Coincidentally, Woolfolk’s official visit to Rutgers on Sept. 18 included a football game.
• Woolfolk chose Rutgers after reported basketball offers from Cal State Bakersfield and Cleveland State.
