Dan Vessey joined the 2023-24 roster in July of 2023, he had originally committed to the Army Black Knights in June of 2022 and remained committed there for a year before a coaching change and being closer to home helped him reevaluate his decision.

- Vessey graduated in 2023 from The Hun School of Princeton in Princeton, N.J.
- Held an offer with the Army basketball team and chose to join the Scarlet Knights in staying closer to his hometown.
- During his junior season at the Hun School, Vessey scored 17 points per game and was named Trentonian Prep Player of the Year, Times of Trenton Prep Player of the Year
- Scored 1,253 points in his career at The Hun School
- Was an N.J. Hoops Prep All-State first-team recipient.
- During his senior year of high school was an east-region McDonald's All-American game New Jersey nominee and was named to multiple all-region and all-league teams.
