  • Father played basketball at the University of Houston (1980-84) and was part of the school's legendary "Phi Slama Jama" teams
  • Michael still ranks third in career scoring in University of Houston history and is one of five players to have his jersey retired by the school
  • Has two older brothers, Michael Jr. and Joe, one older sister, Mayorca, and one younger sister, Milan
  • Joe played at the University of Houston (2011-13) and the University of Oregon (2013-15) before being selected 43rd overall by the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Draft
