Alex Grassi joined the Rutgers field hockey staff in 2018 as an Assistant to the Coaching Staff. Grassi brings with him a variety of coaching and playing experience.
Grassi currently is an assistant coach for the USA Men’s Junior National Field Hockey team. He has also been a coach with three different club programs.
As a member of the USA Men’s National Field Hockey team since 2012, Grassi accumulated 55 caps and recorded six goals. He helped guide the national team to gold and bronze medals in the 2016 and 2017 World League and won bronze in the 2017 Pan American Cup. He was a member of the Junior National Team from 2004 to 2012.
A native of Brookeville, Md., Grassi graduated from Franklin & Marshall College on 2013, where he played soccer. He also earned a Master’s Degree from San Diego State University.
