Zach Kinninger

Zach Kinninger

Zach Kinninger joined Rutgers Athletics in July 2016 and currently serves as assistant director of strength & conditioning, working as the head strength coach for both men's & women's track & field and field hockey. The job includes implementing yearly training programs for each program and leading the strength and conditioning internship program for Olympics sports. Kinninger has experience implementing heart rate monitoring into the workouts and also works directly with the medical staff in the process of rehabilitating athletes.
 
Prior to Rutgers, Kinninger worked as a graduate assistant at Findlay, his alma mater, from August 2014 to April 2016 after starting as an intern at the beginning of 2014. He aided in the development of athletes in 15 different sports, including football, with a focus on softball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer. Part of the training program involved designing and implementing speed, agility and conditioning workouts, coaching proper techniques and providing nutritional expertise.
 
Kinninger was a four-year football letterwinner at Findlay and a two-year starter. The linebacker garnered all-conference honorable mention status and the Ron Cable Orange and Black Award in 2013.
 
Kinninger earned three degrees from Findlay with a master’s in education, a Bachelor of Science in strength and conditioning and an Associates in personal training (minor in coaching). A native of Draper, Utah, he is CSCS, SCCC and RPR (Reflexive Performance Reset) certified as well as owning certification in CPR and first aid.
