Michaela Pillion joined the Rutgers Athletics Department in 2022 and currently serves as a Senior Athletic Trainer, overseeing the medical care for the Scarlet Knights women's rowing program
Pillion completed a Master's of Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training from Indiana University. While at Indiana, she spent two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, primarily working with the Indiana women's rowing team, while also providing outreach services at local high schools. She also participated in conducting a two-year research study on "The Effects of Sleep Quantity on Vestibular/Ocular-Motor (VOMS) Concussion Screening Tool."
Prior to her graduate degree, Pillion attended the University of Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During her time with the Hawkeyes, she worked with a multitude of university sports programs, including the nationally ranked football, wrestling, field hockey, and rowing teams.
Pillion is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Graston M1 Technique trained clinician, member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and an American Heart Association BLS certified provider.
