Arielle Shuren joins Rutgers tennis this year in 2021-22 as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. A four-year letter winner from the University of Delaware, Arielle’s decorated tennis career and coaching experience will be a great addition to the Scarlet Knights.
A 2018 University of Delaware graduate, Arielle played both first singles and doubles winning many esteemed accolades. She won numerous CAA player awards, won the Navy and St. Joseph's Doubles Championship Awards and was an ITA Atlantic Regional singles and doubles participant. Shuren has also competed in several WTA tour events and won the Mount Vernon Mixed Doubles Title.
Off the court, Shuren was on the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll honoree as a Health and Behavior Science Major with a Minor in Health, Physical Activity and Disability. She then went on to obtain a Masters Degree from the University of Delaware in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Currently, she is a doctoral student at Concordia University, obtaining an EdD in Health and Human Performance. She also served as a HENS Mentor / Staff Leader for other student-athletes throughout her schooling.
In addition to working as a volunteer assistant coach for RU, Shuren dedicates her time to training young professionals. She currently trains WTA touring professionals, as well as training high performance junior players as a member and instructor of the Professional Tennis Registry.
She has also been an instructor for programs at West Point Military Academy and the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy. In Spring Lake, New Jersey, she has served as the Director of Tennis for their summer camp and has worked as a High Performance Fitness Coach at Magnus Potential. Her internship experience includes the USTA and Titus Sports Academy. Additionally, she has worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehabilitation for Northwell Health.
