Kristina Minor has served as Director of Compliance in the Rutgers University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics since February, 2016. Honored with the 2017 National Association for Athletics Compliance Rising Star Award, she arrived “On the Banks” after working as Assistant Director of Compliance at the Big Ten Conference.
In her role with the Scarlet Knights, Minor oversees and monitors compliance matters for a subset of varsity sports. She educates coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and external groups on NCAA, Big Ten and Rutgers rules and regulations. In addition to serving as the compliance liaison for various administrative departments, Minor lead efforts to create an athletic compliance department policies and procedures manual.
In Rosemont, Minor provided interpretations of NCAA and conference rules, evaluated compliance forms required for submission by league institutions and assisted governance groups as necessary. She served as conference liaison for men’s tennis and men’s golf, which included staffing annual business meetings and championships, and facilitating communication when issues arose.
Prior to her tenure with the Big Ten, Minor served as a Postgraduate Enforcement Intern at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis and a Legal Extern with the Nike, Inc. Sports Marketing Legal Department in Beaverton. She also worked as a summer law clerk with the NCAA and as a Judicial Intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Gorence in Milwaukee.
Minor was four-year varsity tennis letterwinner and three-time Academic All-American at the University of Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish in May 2010, before receiving her Juris Doctor in May 2013 from Marquette University Law School. Minor is presently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Strategy & Leadership at the Rutgers Business School.
