CAREER SUMMARY
Ken Pennini joined Rutgers Athletics as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in October 2022. He is responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the Scarlet Knights' baseball and men's golf programs.
Since arriving at Rutgers, Pennini has overseen all aspects of strength and conditioning for both programs, designing individualized training plans and implementing comprehensive performance programs to maximize athletic development and on-field performance. He utilizes industry-leading technology, including EliteForm for velocity-based training and Hawkin Dynamics force plates to monitor power output, identify movement asymmetries and guide data-driven performance programming.
Pennini came to Rutgers after spending seven years at Bryant University, where he served as both Associate Head Strength Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. During his tenure, he worked with numerous varsity programs, including baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis, volleyball, field hockey, golf and football.
At Bryant, Pennini developed sport-specific training programs based on individual athlete needs, data collection and performance analysis. His evidence-based approach contributed to sustained team success, including two Northeast Conference Tournament championships for men's lacrosse, seven Northeast Conference regular-season titles for baseball and five Northeast Conference championships for men's tennis.
Prior to Bryant, Pennini served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern at Appalachian State, where he worked extensively with the Mountaineers football program.
A native of Millis, Massachusetts, Pennini earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Health Fitness from Bridgewater State University, where he was a pitcher and captain on the baseball team. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification, is TPI Level 1 certified and is certified in CPR/AED and First Aid.
