Rutgers Drops BIG EAST Match to Miami, 3-0

CORAL GABLES, FL. – The Rutgers women’s volleyball
team lost its third consecutive BIG EAST Conference match tonight, to Miami, 3-0
(27-30, 26-30, 26-30). Rutgers’ record now stands at 11-7, 0-3 in league
play, while the Hurricanes improve to 16-1, 4-1 in the BIG EAST.
Rutgers was led by junior Shayla Bush’s (Spokane, WA) 18 kills and 19 digs. It was her 10th double-double of the season. Freshman Courtney Stout (San Marcos, CA) added 11 kills and 13 digs, while senior co-captain Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) contributed 44 assists, eight digs and five kills. Sophomore Addie Thiry (Louisville, KY) posted a career-high five block assists in the match.
Rutgers will remain on the road to face Virginia Tech on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m.
