Rutgers Defeats Providence for Third-Straight Win

Shayla Bush's (Spokane, WA) 22 kills at a .378 hitting percentage and 14 digs led the way for the Scarlet Knights. It was Bush's 14th double-double of the season. Lauren Venarchik (West Chester, PA) tallied 15 kills at a .500 hitting percentage and eight total blocks (three solo, five assists), while Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) recorded 54 assists, 13 digs and four block assists.
RU was able to accumulate 17 blocks in the match, while the Friars had just two. Rutgers also held Providence to a .026 hitting percentage, while hitting at a .315 clip. Sophomore Addie Thiry (Louisville, KY) had six block assists and one block solo against the Friars after posting five block solos and eight block assists, both career-highs, on Friday night against Boston College.
Rutgers will return home for two matches next weekend, against Pittsburgh on Friday, Nov. 1, at 6 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 3, against West Virginia at 2 p.m.
