Rutgers Sweeps Northeastern 3-0

BOSTON, MA – The Rutgers women's volleyball team,
playing in its 14th straight road match to start the 2002 season, defeated Northeastern
tonight, 3-0 (30-26, 30-26, 30-16). Northeastern falls to 4-10, while the Scarlet
Knights improve their record to 10-4.
Shayla Bush’s (Spokane, WA) 20 kills at a hitting percentage of .348, and 13 digs led the way for the Scarlet Knights, while senior co-captain Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) had 43 assists, seven digs and five block assists. Junior Sandra Nunner (Muenster, Germany) added 16 kills and five digs, while sophomore Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA) contributed 12 digs.
Northeastern was led by Erin Spangler, who tallied 10 kills.
The Scarlet Knights will stay in Boston to face Brown at Northeastern on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m.
