Rutgers Announces Fall Softball Schedule

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Rutgers softball team will participate in three tournaments this fall, including the New Jersey Fall Classic and the Rutgers Invitational, both of which the Scarlet Knights will host at the RU Softball Complex.
The Scarlet Knights will host the New Jersey Fall Classic on Sept. 18-19. RU will take on Saint Peter’s at 12:00 p.m. on Sept. 18, and TCNJ at 2:00 p.m. on the final day of competition.
The following weekend, Rutgers welcomes Drew University and Manhattan College to Piscataway for the Rutgers Invitational. RU plays Drew at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, and Manhattan at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26.
RU’s final tournament of the fall season will take place on Oct. 2-3 as the Scarlet Knights travel to University Park, PA, to participate in the Penn State Fall Tournament.
Rutgers, under the direction of 24th-year head coach Pat Willis, will return 10 letterwinners and six starters from a 2004 team that posted a 26-29-1 overall record and an 8-12 mark in BIG EAST play.
