Lewis Named to BIG EAST Field Hockey Second Team

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers freshman back Amy Lewis (Hainesport, NJ) was named to the All-BIG EAST Field Hockey Second Team , the league office announced Thursday evening.
During her first season 'On the Banks' , Lewis, a true freshman, started all 19 games for the Scarlet Knights and finished with 16 points (six goals, four assists), good for the second-highest total on the team. Lewis' stellar freshman campaign featured a five-game point scoring streak earlier this season. Lewis tallied goals against Lafayette (9/11), Syracuse (9/16), and Saint Joseph's (9/25) and registered assists in games against Albany (9/18) and then No. 17 Villanova (9/23).
Lewis was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll three times during her freshman season and scored the game-winning goal for the Scarlet Knights in a last second victory against Radford (10/22). Lewis' 25 shots on goal and 36 shots all together were tops on the team.
The Scarlet Knights finished the season at 7-12 overall and 1-4 in BIG EAST Conference play.
