Sanderson Leads Orangeville to Ontario Lacrosse Association Finals

ONTARIO, CANADA – Rising sophomore Nate Sanderson (Orangeville, Ontario) is enjoying a productive summer with the Orangeville Northmen of the Ontario Lacrosse Association.
Sanderson finished the regular season with 30 goals and 41 assists for 71 points, the fifth highest total in the Junior “A” league. Orangeville went 19-3 and shared the regular season title with Six Nations.
Orangeville has carried its regular season momentum into the playoffs, sweeping the K-W Kodiaks in the opening round, 4-0, before disposing of Toronto, 4-0, in the semifinals. Orangeville is currently facing Six Nations in the tournament finals, a best-of-seven series that Six Nations leads, 1-0. The second game will be on Friday, Aug. 12.
In the playoffs, Sanderson has 11 goals and nine assists while playing in five of the Northmen’s games.
As a freshman last spring for the Scarlet Knights, Sanderson made an immediate impact, leading the team with 14 goals. Over a five-game stretch from March 19 through April 2, he netted 13 goals, including three against Stony Brook, four against Hobart and four against St. John’s. Sanderson was the ECAC Rookie of the Week on April 4.
