PISCATAWAY, NJ - Connecticut (10-11, 2-0 BIG EAST) limited Rutgers to just eight hits over two games as RU (5-18, 0-2 BIG EAST) fell 4-0 and 6-0 in softball action on Saturday afternoon at the RU Softball Complex.

At the plate, Brittany Loisel (Gilbert, AZ) went two-for-three while Amanda Shaw (Yorba Linda, CA), Kim Hodges (Houston, TX) and Shantai Dixon (Sayreville, NJ) each notched one hit.
Connecticut struck for one run in the fourth inning on a solo run home to left center field and then tacked on three important insurance runs in the sixth inning.
In the second game, the Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead, keyed by a two-RBI single from Christine Keeton. Connecticut tacked on single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings for its final 6-0 margin.
Christina Yard (Hillsborough, NJ) pitched four innings before being relieved by Nicole Freeman (Sandy, UT). Kristin Madoch (Glenview, IL), Kaitlyn Valiante (Mt. Laurel, NJ) and Sarah Kalka (Moreno Valley, CA) each had hits from an offensive attack that was limited by UC’s Michelle Caouette, who had a complete-game three-hitter with eight strikeouts.
