Cantwell Named Under Armour Girls All-America

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Brooke Cantwell (Moorestown, NJ), a 5-9 senior attacker at Moorestown High School who will continue her lacrosse career as a Scarlet Knight beginning in the fall, has been named to the first-ever Under Armour All-America team.
Cantwell, an incoming freshman, is among 44 of the
nation's best who will compete in the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic
game, to be held at Towson Unviersity on June 18, 2006. The All-Americans
selected have been divided into North and South rosters to compete in the event.
Cantwell tallied 55 goals and 33 assists as a junior and was Moorestown's leading scorer for the season. On a team that
ranked third in the nation, Cantwell also added 48 ground balls and 26 legal
checks. She also scored two goals in a match-up against the nation's top team,
Mt. Hebron, during the 2005 season and is considered one
of the most skilled attackers in New
Jersey.
For her efforts during her junior year, she was named to the Liberty Division's All-First Team, Second Team All-State by the Star-Ledger, First Team All-South Jersey and First Team All-County.
Cantwell joins seven other future Scarlet Knights as members of the incoming freshman class. Rounding out the group are Karie McGuire (Movrovia, MD), Maggie Pierce (Severn, MD), Mary Cryan (Newtown Square, PA), Erika Page (Moorestown, NJ), Emily Penn (Medford, NJ), Jessica Davis (Moorestown, NJ) and Meghan Flanagan (Medford, NJ). Cantwell, Davis and Page all started on a Moorestown team that was ranked third in the nation by Lacrosse Magazine and fourth by Laxpower.com. Penn and Flanagan captained a Shawnee team that was ranked second in New Jersey and 13th nationally by Laxpower.com.
