Batiuk and Frankoski Earn All-Region Honors

Piscataway, N.J. - Senior Katie Batiuk (Jackson, N.J.) has earned IWLCA All-Regional honors for the fourth time in her career, being named to the Mid-Atlantic first team squad it was announced on Thursday.
Sophomore Nina Frankoski (Maplewood, N.J.) was tabbed to the Mid-Atlantic All-Regional second team. In total, 128 student-athletes in Division I were honored on one of eight All-Regional teams in four regions. All are eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American team which will be announced on May 29.
Batiuk, a two-time first team All-Region selection, closed her senior campaign with a team-best 42 goals. The midfielder had six assists for a team-high 48 points. She tallied at least one goal in 16 of the team's 17 games this spring. Batiuk, a three-time all-BIG EAST first team selection, added 29 draw controls.
Frankoski, a sophomore attacker, finished the season second on the team in goals with 40. She registered five assists for a second-best 45 points and was also a first team All-BIG EAST honoree.
Both Batiuk and Frankoski had four game-winning goals each to pace the team.
The Scarlet Knights (12-5) climbed as high as No. 14 (Inside Lacrosse) in the national polls this season, their best ranking since a No. 11 ranking during the 2000 season. The 12 regular-season victories were the third-highest win total in team history.
