Amy Lewis Named Second Team All-American

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers senior Amy Lewis (Hainesport, N.J.) was selected to the 2008 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-American team, it was announced on Monday.
Lewis, a second team honoree, was one of eight BIG EAST athletes named to the three squads. The 2008 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, Lewis led the squad with 24 goals- second in the league- and eight assists. She was tabbed to the Mid-Atlantic first team for the second straight season. Lewis became the all-time Rutgers program leader in both goals in points this past season. She scored 71 goals and 14 assists over her career.
Rutgers concluded the season with a 14-6 record, the most wins for the program since 1997 (14-7) and just one win off the program-best of 15 wins (1984). In addition, the six losses were the fewest for an RU team since 1986 (14-6-2).
