O'Dougherty Named to Tewaarton Watch List

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Junior Chris O'Dougherty (Kinnelon, N.J.) has been named to the 2008 watch list for the Tewaarton Trophy sponsored by Warrior. The Tewaarton Trophy is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, honoring the top male varsity collegiate lacrosse player in the United States.
The players on the list were nominated by coaches across the country and are now considered early season hopefuls for the prestigious award.
O'Dougherty, who was named an Inside Lacrosse Preseason Third Team All-American and selected as a member of the 2008 Preseason All-ECAC Team, is a co-captain of a stingy Rutgers defense that allowed only four goals to UMBC in RU's season opening victory. O'Dougherty started all 13 games in 2007 and tied for the team lead in caused turnovers.
