PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Head softball coach Jay Nelson has announced that Noelle Sisco (Towaco, N.J.) has been admitted into Rutgers University and will compete for the Scarlet Knights in 2009.
"We are delighted that Noelle has decided to attend Rutgers and play on the softball team," said Nelson. "She is one of the top pitchers in New Jersey finishing the high school season with a 24-3 record. She will add a great deal of depth to our pitching staff in our 2009 campaign."
Sisco, the 2008 All Daily Record Softball Player of the Year, was a standout pitcher for her Montville High School squad. Sisco posted a school-record 24 wins as a senior with a 1.00 earned-run-average. She pitched 175 innings, surpassing her school record for strikeouts in a season with 234. Sisco walked only 23 batters on the year and registered 12 shutouts.
Sisco also excelled at the plate for the Mustangs, batting .370 with 38 hits and 29 RBIs. As a junior, she established school records for both single-season hits (42) and RBIs (35).
