LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior midfielder Brooke Cantwell (Moorestown, N.J.) scored a team-high three goals, but the Rutgers women’s lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought 10-8 decision at Louisville Friday afternoon.
The Scarlet Knights fall to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the BIG EAST, while the Cardinals improve to 7-3 on the year and 1-2 in league play.

The Scarlet Knights raced out to a 5-3 lead with all the goals coming from Cantwell and sophomore Marley Welsh (Jarretsville, Md.). Louisville responded with back-to-back goals to tie the game at five entering intermission.
The game remained tight in the second half with the squads trading goals for the first 15 minutes. Anderson tallied her second score of the half with 14:18 remaining to give RU an 8-7 lead.
