PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women’s lacrosse team, coming off a 15-10 BIG EAST road win against Cincinnati on Saturday, will step out of conference Wednesday to take on Monmouth at Kessler Field. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
The contest will be the third of four straight road games for Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights (5-8) split a pair of BIG EAST contests, falling at Louisville and topping Cincinnati, this past weekend.
Junior midfielder Brooke Cantwell (Moorestown, N.J.) tied her season-high with four goals and the RU defense held Cincinnati scoreless for the final 15 minutes in the win over the Bearcats Sunday. Four other Scarlet Knights scored two goals each and freshman Annie McGinley (Moorestown, N.J.) dished out a career-high three assists to pace a potent RU offensive attack that netted 15 goals, the second most of the season.
Monmouth (6-6) has won two straight games, including a 21-5 road victory over Central Connecticut State University on Sunday. The Hawks were led by junior midfielder Ali Pollock, who broke the school record for assists in a game with eight. Pollock also added three goals for 11 total points.
Rutgers is a perfect 6-0 all-time against Monmouth, including a 14-9 win at home last season.
