(Nov. 6, 2010) – The Rutgers field hockey team dropped its opening game of the BIG EAST Tournament to No. 1 seed Syracuse, 4-1, today at the Sherman Family Sports Complex in Storrs, Conn. The Scarlet Knights, who were competing in their first BIG EAST Tournament since 2003, end the 2010 season with an 8-12 record.

RU could not maintain its momentum as Syracuse added another goal at the 65 minute mark to close out a 4-1 victory.
For the match, RU was lead by freshman Sarah Stuby (Roxbury, N.J.) who tallied five saves in the losing effort. The match marked the final game for a pair of RU seniors, Jenna Bull (Oakville, Ontario) and Heather Garces (Cream Ridge, N.J.).
