
Pennington Named to ThunderBay Team of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 29, 2010) – Senior midfielder Justin Pennington (Flemington, N.J.) of the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team was named to the ThunderBay Team of the Week, the web site announced Tuesday.
Pennington’s selection is the second of the week for the 5-foot-11 midfielder as he was selected as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Additionally, Pennington has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times this season.
Pennington led Rutgers to its biggest win of the season by tying a season high with three goals in RU’s 10-8 upset at No. 11/13 Notre Dame in their BIG EAST opener Saturday. He took eight shots, including five on goal, and scooped up a ground ball. The hat trick is his second of the season and seventh of his career. The Tewaaraton Watch List selection has tallied multiple points in all seven games this season and has notched a goal or assist in 16 straight games dating back to last season.
The Scarlet Knights host their first BIG EAST home game when they welcome St. John’s to the RU Turf Field this Saturday at 3 p.m. The contest will be shown on Verizon FiOS1 through tape delay. The Verizon FiOS1 productions for home games at Yurcak Field will be streamed live on ScarletKnights.com.
