Rutgers Softball Announces 2010 Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Sept. 7, 2010) –Rutgers softball released its 2010 fall schedule, head coach Jay Nelson announced Tuesday. Coming off their first BIG EAST Championship appearance in 12 years, the Scarlet Knights will play in three tournaments – including two home stands – and end the season with an alumni game on Oct. 17 at 1 p.m.
Fall ball kicks off on Sept. 18-19, as RU travels to Binghamton for a four-game tournament. The Scarlet Knights will play Colgate at noon on Saturday, followed by host Binghamton at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Rutgers will take on Albany at 10 a.m. and Cornell at noon.
Rutgers hosts two tournaments in the fall, starting with the one day Rutgers Autumn Invitational on Sept. 26. The Scarlet Knights will play Saint Peter’s at 10 a.m., followed by Iona at 2 p.m. Another Rutgers Invitational will be held on Oct. 3, as the Scarlet Knights bring in Monmouth and Delaware.
The season ends “On the Banks” with the highly-touted Alumni Game on Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m.
