Rutgers Women's Lacrosse to Host All-Day Scrimmage

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Oct. 20, 2011) - Rutgers women's lacrosse hosts Drexel, St. Joseph's, Lafayette and Wagner in an all-day scrimmage Saturday, Oct. 22 at the RU Stadium Complex Turf Field. The day will wrap up the fall schedule for the Scarlet Knights.
The day will start at 11 a.m., as Drexel and Lafayette will face off in game one. St. Joseph's and Lafayette will go head-to-head in game two at approximately 11:50 a.m. At 12:40 p.m., Rutgers takes on Drexel before the Dragons play Wagner at 1:30 p.m. RU and Lafayette square off at 2:20 p.m. before the Scarlet Knights take on St. Joe's. The Hawks finish their day with Wagner, before the Seahawks and Scarlet Knights go head-to-head at 4:50 p.m. to wrap up the day's events.
Rutgers returns 22 letterwinners from a season ago, including goalkeeper Lily Kalata (Nesconset, N.Y.). Last year, Kalata logged 863 minutes in the cage with 147 saves and a .509 save percentage. In midfield, junior Ali Steinberg (Suffern, N.Y.) will play a major role for RU, as she tallied eight goals and four assists last season.
The Scarlet Knights finished the season 9-7 overall and had five Scarlet Knights - Rebecca Alley (Tewksbury N.J.), Kalata, Katherine Marino (Hillsborough, N.J.), Steinberg and Marlena Welsh (Jarretsville, Md.). - named to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Team
