PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 4, 2011) – Rutgers field hockey placed three players on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, as announced by the conference office. Christie Morad (Marlton, N.J.), Lisa Patrone (Sewell, N.J.) and Carlie Rouh (Berlin, N.J.) all earn their first postseason accolades.
“These accolades are a testament to our team,” head coach Liz Tchou said. “The fact that we were able to get three players to be honored not only gives these three individuals confidence and recognition for their hard work, but is a representation of the hard work and dedication of our team as a whole.”
Morad concluded her career with the Scarlet Knights this season, appearing and starting in 18 contests for RU in 2011. She served as one of the team’s three captains and provided a vital leadership role to the squad’s backline. The senior dished out assists against conference foes Syracuse and Providence.
Patrone amassed 16 starts in 18 appearances in her second season with the Scarlet Knights. The Sewell, N.J. native was third on the team in assists with four. Patrone was recognized on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 17 for her efforts against Providence and Lafayette. She recorded her first goal of the season to help solidify a 3-1 victory versus the Friars and added an assist against the Leopards.
Rouh enjoyed a breakout season in her junior campaign, surpassing her production from her first two seasons combined. She concluded the year the team’s second-leading scorer (five goals), second in points (15) and tied for first in assists (five). Her 47 shots were a team-high and ranked her sixth in the BIG EAST.
