
Seven RU Field Hockey Student-Athletes Receive Academic Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 10, 2011) – Seven members of theRutgers University field hockey team have been recognized for their outstanding academic achievement as they were named to the Nation Field Hockey Coaches Association’s academic squad.
Cornelia Duffin (Moorestown, N.J.), Mackenzie Noda (Allentown, Pa.), Lisa Patrone (Sewall, N.J.), Kat Rodziewicz (Ocean, N.J.), Emily Strong (Medford, N.J.), Sarah Stuby (Roxbury, N.J.) and Ashley Yanek (Northampton, Pa.) were all honored for their achievements in the classroom by the NFHCA.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2010-11 academic year.
The 2011 Scarlet Knights will return 18 letterwinners and 10 starters, including their leading goal scorer and point getter, from a squad that advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2003.
