
RU Field Hockey Well Represented on High Performance Squads

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 17, 2011) – The Rutgers field hockey team is well represented on a pair of New Jersey High Performance Squads, USA Field Hockey announced.
Gia Nappi (Fairfield, N.J.), Lisa Patrone (Sewell, N.J.), and Sarah Stuby (Roxbury, N.J.) were selected to the New Jersey Junior High Performance Training Squad and are competing for a spot on the Championship squad that will travel to Virginia Beach for the Junior Women’s National Championships June 18-25.
In addition to Nappi, Patrone and Stuby, assistant coach Meredith Long will compete with defending National Champions, Team New Jersey, at the Senior Women’s High Performance Championships.
The 2011 Scarlet Knights will return 18 letterwinners and 10 starters, including their leading goal scorer and point getter, from a squad that advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2003.
