
Patrone Earns BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (October 8, 2012) - Rutgers field hockey junior Lisa Patrone (Washington Township, N.J.), received BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors after a six-point effort to lead the Scarlet Knights (7-6, 1-3) to a 5-1 conference victory over Georgetown.
"We are extremely proud of Lisa for receiving this honor," said Coach Meredith Long. "She had a fantastic game against Georgetown, and this is honor is very well deserved. She really came up big by finishing three goals for us, and we couldn't be more proud of her."
Patrone grabbed her first hat trick of both the season and of her career. The dominant forward has made huge strides throughout the season and now leads the squad in both points (19) and goals (8). With eight goals and 19 points in the 2012 season, she has blown out her career goals (5), and has passed her career points mark (16).
