Rutgers Men's Soccer Receives NSCAA College Team Academic Award

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 21, 2012) -- The Rutgers men's soccer team was named a recipient of the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Awards, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Earning the academic team award from the NSCAA for the second consecutive year, the Scarlet Knights posted a 3.00 team grade point average for the 2011-12 academic year.
The Rutgers men's soccer program was one of 503 collegiate men's soccer teams bestowed the award for posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, Rutgers University was one of 152 schools to have both its men's and women's programs recognized
"We take great pride in what our team accomplishes both on the field and in the classroom," said head coach Dan Donigan, who recently completed his third season "on the banks". "Credit goes to not only our players who performed in the classroom, but to Randi Larson and the academic support staff, as well, in helping our team succeed. Myself and the coaching staff feel that to earn this type of recognition for the second straight season is a tremendous honor and an achievement second-to-none. "
