PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse will begin its fall scrimmage schedule this week. The Scarlet Knights will have two total scrimmages, beginning with a home contest on Thursday and a road scrimmage the following weekend.
Thursday the Scarlet Knights will host Keio University, a school from Tokyo, Japan. The contest will be held at the Turf Field at 4 p.m.
The Scarlet Knights will be on the road the following weekend for a scrimmage at UMass on October 11. In conjunction with that scrimmage, Rutgers will participate in a campaign to raise money to help children battling cancer in partnership with the Vs. Cancer Foundation. Rutgers fans can donate directly to Rutgers' fundraising efforts here. Half of all proceeds will benefit national childhood cancer research, and the other half will help kids directly undergoing treatment at a local children's hospital.
The two scrimmages will be the first game action for a 14-member freshman class that head coach Brian Brecht welcomed at the beginning of the fall semester.
This coming weekend also includes a host of alumni events. RU will host its annual alumni game on Friday night at 7 p.m. in "The Bubble" and an alumni tailgate at 4 p.m. Saturday prior to the Michigan football game.
