Nardella Named Preseason All-American

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Dec. 9, 2014) - Rutgers senior Joseph Nardella was named a Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook. Nardella was recognized as a Second Team selection by the publication.
Nardella was recognized as a Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse for the second straight season, and was also named a Midseason First Team All-American last year by Inside Lacrosse.
The Cazenovia, N.Y. native was a two-time Second Team All-BIG EAST selection. Last season he notched an impressive .632 (206-of-326) face-off win percentage, totaling 10 or more wins in 12 games. That total ranked fifth nationally and second in the conference. He also collected 137 ground balls, ranking fourth in the country with 9.79 ground balls per game.
Nardella scored a career-best five goals and added seven assists last season. He enters the year with seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points, along with a .604 faceoff percentage (537-for-889) in 44 career games. He also has 315 career ground balls, the most of any returning player. Nardella was named a team captain this year for the second consecutive season.
This year Rutgers will be part of the inaugural season of Big Ten Lacrosse. The Scarlet Knights have nine home games at High Point Solutions Stadium, and season tickets are currently on sale online.
